Missouri’s back-to-school sales tax holiday runs from 12:01 a.m. Friday through midnight Sunday and covers clothing, school supplies, computers, software, and graphing calculators within price limits.
What qualifies
- Clothing: $100 or less per item
- School supplies: $50 or less per purchase
- Personal computers and peripherals: $1,500 or less
- Computer software: $350 or less
- Graphing calculators: $150 or less
Do online purchases count?
Qualifying online purchases can receive the exemption when the order and payment satisfy Missouri’s holiday timing rules.
State and local tax treatment
State and local tax is generally waived on qualifying purchases under current law. Some retailer-specific refund procedures can apply.
Important limitation
