Florida’s 2026 back-to-school sales tax holiday lasts one month, from July 20 through August 20, and covers qualifying clothing, school supplies, learning aids, and personal computers within category price limits.
What qualifies
- Clothing, footwear, wallets, and qualifying bags: $100 or less per item
- School supplies: $50 or less per item
- Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles: $30 or less per item
- Personal computers and related accessories: $1,500 or less per item
Do online purchases count?
Qualifying online purchases generally receive the exemption when the sale is completed during the holiday under Florida’s transaction rules. Check the official FAQ for delivery, back-order, and shipping details.
State and local tax treatment
The exemption applies to Florida sales tax on qualifying purchases. Normal exclusions and location-based rules still apply.
Important limitation
The holiday does not apply to purchases made in airports, theme parks, entertainment complexes, or public lodging establishments.
